Как написать хороший юмористический рассказ? Да просто попытаться скрыть, что ты вообще хочешь кого-то насмешить:
The humorous story is told gravely; the teller does his best to conceal the fact that he even dimly suspects that there is anything funny about it.
А великолепное эссе о Фениморе Купере, которое тоже входит в этот сборник, стало классикой жанра.
