Воле нужны препятствия, чтобы сохранять силу. Когда ничто не идет ей наперекор, когда осуществление желаний не требует никакого напряжения, ибо желаешь ты лишь того, что можно получить, просто протянув руку, воля становится дряблой. Если все время ходить по плоскости, мышцы, необходимые для подъема в гору, атрофируются.
