7 figureoutables out of 10.
Just because something hasn't been figured out up till now is not scientific proof that it isn't figureoutable; just that it hasn't been figured out yet. What's an example? A hundred years ago we would've thought that human beings walking on the Moon sounded crazy, actually you would've thought someone would be a lunatic if they said that idea (that's actually where the world comes from - lunatic). Yet, in 1969 we figured out how to do that.
The Russian edition.
It was actually quite a pleasant book to read, although it doesn't have revolutionary ideas or insights (at least for me), but I guess it might be a good one if you've never been in therapy or had a coach. It's like a gentle reminder of things you already know.
1. All problems and dreams are figureoutable.
2. If a problem is not figureoutable, it's not really a problem, it's a fact of life or a law of nature (like death or gravity).
3. You may not care enough to figure this problem out or achieve this particular dream. Find another problem or dream that ignites a blazing fire in your heart.
Nothing exists in our world that does not first exist in our mind (wasn't it something like what Disney said?). Also I reckon it's something they "teach" you in coaching - that if you can imagine you, you have the resources to do it.
Creative process: thoughts become feelings, feelings become behaviour, behaviour becomes results.
We do not see things as they are, we see them as we are.
All beliefs are a choice and choices can be changed. All beliefs are learnt. Those creating pain or misery and suffering can be unlearnt.
I can't do something. "Can't" is a euphemism for "won't". In other words you don't want to. You don't want to get uncomfortable or it's not an important priority.
I can't = we behave lie powerless victims that don't have control over their time and resources. No responsibility. I wont = you're in charge, you've got the responsibility and control.
You're responsible always and in all ways.
(over your thoughts, feelings and behaviour)
It's not about having the time, it's about making the time.
Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.
Fear is not the enemy. Waiting to stop feeling afraid is.
If a fear cannot be articulated, it can't be conquered.
It's not a failure. It's a faithful attempt in learning.
Starting small and sucky beats staying stucky.
You just can't beat a person who never gives up.
Refuse to be refused!
Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows.
