For those that like historic novels

I'll just give my three biggest impressions of this book. 1) It's a well-written and entertaining read for those that like historic novels. 2) Being a work of fiction, it can't but be far-fetched at times. I had to stop reading midchapter and wonder "Oh, come on! Let's get back to reality. I know the author wants to keep it entertaining, but all these twists are unreal!" Here's an example of what I mean. So the events take place in Nazi-occupied Krakow during World War 2. The Polish-Jewish underground resistance have planned an attack on a Nazi-frequented bar. There have been casualties. Upon hearing it, our main character rushes towards the scene of the explosion. Unnoticed she gets to the very epicenter of the events to be met by a resistance fighter that has remained on the scene to pass a word to her that her husband who was involved in the explosion is OK. Really?! Aha! 3) The ending of the novel is rushed. Literally, everything infolds within last 10 pages. And then there's really no ending to speak of. The author leaves it to the reader's imagination to picture the ending. That was a bit disappointing. All is all 3 stars out of 5.
