    Guess who's back, back again

"Statistically, a person comes across 7 serial killers during one's life without knowing that" claims Harry Hole. But I would add, if you live in Norway, you chances are skyrocketing.
The beginning of the book is slow and quite boring.   It feels like the writer had a crisis of ideas how to motivate Harry to start investigation.
The type of crime is usual for Scandinavian detective novels: mutilated female bodies and a pervert family member who has to be revenged decades later, to put it in a nutshell, daddy issues.
The investigative genius of Harry: it's almost absent!!! Harry rushes in wrong conclusions all the time. It's so ridiculous, even Harry himself mocks at it. But this fact is quiet disappointing for a reader. We are all here because of Harry's brilliant mind, for God's sake!!!
Love life: of course Harry Hole is a magnet for ladies. But with every book it's harder and harder to believe in as imagination draws a middle aged alcoholic. In my opinion, this description is an antonym for "attractiveness".
    Plot twist: there's one!!!! yes!!!
Cliffhanger in the end: there's one, too!!!
My thoughts as a conclusion: unfortunately, this book is not even in top-5. The feeling that the writer is fed up with Harry wasn't leaving me during two last books. Am I going to read the next book no matter when it's published? Oh, yes)))
Don't let us all down, Jo!
