I Am The Traitor

This used to be my home. The farmhouse. I trained here for two years when I first arrived at The Program. It is the place where I ended one life and began a new one.
If I have my way, the same thing will happen again today.

"It looks like I`m the one in the torture chair this mission."
"You know what they say: It`s not a reall mission until someone`s in a torture chair."

Don`t listen to him. This is another mind game. Defeat your opponent in the head, and you will defeat him in the world.

"I lied to you, Mike. My ship is gone. They took it out."
"Bullshit," Mike says. "There is no you without the chip."
"It`s gone and I`m still here."

I understand what mother is saying. From her pespective, feelings interfere with the mission. They create problems like doubt, fear, and hesitation. I`ve experienced all those things in the last few months.
If she wants to control the mission, she must control the feelings of her soldiers.
But I will not be controlled anymore.

We have a code. Primary objective: Protect The Program. Secondary objective: Survive. You`re very good at the second, but you seem to have forgotten the first.

"Am I kissing you or am I kissing an assassin?"
"Maybe a little bit of both."

I was trained to call this man Father, but he was never my father. He was my commander. If we had gotten to our destination, he would have become my interrogator.
He has been other things as well. My savior. My mentor.
Much has passed between us, good and bad. My feelings about him are complex, but I would save him now if I could.
Maybe he knows this. Our eyes meet, and he appears to be smiling at me.
It`s a generous smile, almost like forgiveness.

It`s almost always better to stay in a vehicle during a crash. The metal structure absorbs the bulk of the impact much better than human flesh. Usually. Not always.
