Humans are, by nature, very time and space oriented. This is the way we have been trained to interpret reality and the information around and within us. However, work with the Fair Folk and the ancestral beings forces us to realize the ever-present now. When we tap into timeless states of Faery being, we realize that behind us we have ancestors of the past that flow up through us and anchor us, and before us are the ancestors of the future drawing us forward through time and into new expression. In another time, we are already the voices of the ancestors. We appear in their visions and dreams in another place and time. Perhaps we even warn them not to repeat our mistakes. Do not confuse time with reality. Time is only a means of explaining the relationship between matter and change. It is a measure of cycles of form caused by change. The concept of time never touches in on energy and its perpetual life. Forms change but the essence remains the same. The ancestors of the future give us the next goal. We (the chronological present) open the way for them as we approach them to become the ancestors of their past.

Trees and Plants -- These incarnate beings do not have individuated intelligence types. They implement a collective nar [central intelligence of a species maintaining the pattern and power of an entire species]. They have no need for individualized intelligence or soul typing as their existence and experience is of we not me. It would be foolish for a human to perceive them as less intelligent, for they have a greater intelligence than human as it relates to collective awareness and natural balance. Each plant or tree species has the awareness of its entire variety. This means it thinks, feels, and expresses through all of the trees or plants in the world which share its type. For example, one oak tree knows the experience of all oak trees.

War -- This type of pattern is not limited to man's relationship with man. It can be seen throughout many facets of relationships between humanity and nature itself. When humans migrate onto a land area, they tend to engage in battle with many of the creatures that are indigenous and a part of the natural balance. The words we humans choose to describe many of the indigenous beings that dwell in nature and that do not possess exploitable aspects, or somehow hinder the production of otherwise human-useful resources, tell us much about the human perception of itself and nature. For example, plants that are not useful in ornamental or food gardening are named "weeds". Insects are often termed "bugs". Any creature that poses a threat to human comfort is termed a "pest". (...) these beings shift their balance and produce new resilient life forms that can be dangerous to humanity. It becomes survival of the fittest and toughest.
