A Simple Enquiry

<p>Three Italian soldiers in a snow-covered hut. The senior soldier, a major, calls a 19-year-old orderly into his room and asks him if he has ever loved a woman. When his questions are answered with a refusal, he sends the orderly out of the room, knowing that he will not insist on the question. The major's main question to himself is whether the orderly was telling the truth.</p>
