Аноним4 апреля 2018 г.Well, I lied that I'll not be reading this stuff in 10 years time. I just couldn't keep myself from it.
When you start reading, you realize how weird the story is. An old vampire who hasn't fallen in love for 100 years, acting like a teenager, that's insane! At the same time, you believe them, and understand that author has used right tricks to attract girls feeling love for the first time: the most handsome boy (and undoubtedly the coolest one) in school, who turns down every girl, finally is infatuated by that ordinary introverted one. Literally, Bella feels the same as all other women, she is mesmerized by Edwards alluring (still crooked) smile, exquisite scent, piercing look, and appealing voice. Then you face Edward's anguish and torment: he is perpetually fighting his demons striving to kill, tries to balance his passion, has a strong sense to protect such a clumsy human-being and experiences bizarre feelings he cannot even understand himself. Some may find it romantic to some extent, however, it is honestly disgusting dating a guy consciously thirsty for your blood. In addition, his behavior is creepy: he catches her tears to taste them! Yuck!
Even though I am acquainted well with the plot, it was interesting to know details about every character. First, it is the story of Carlisle, who was a son of a Catholic pastor and became a vampire during fighting with cold ones. He rebelled against it and even wanted to starve himself to death until he discovered a new doctrine: vampires can quench their thirst with animal blood. He found his purpose in medicine, in helping people, but was lonely and wanted a company. He saved Edward dying from Spanish influenza merely out of his curiosity.
Second, Rosalie came to the family to accompany Edward. However, her beauty charms did not work with him. This is mainly the reason, why Rosalie did not like Bella, out of jealousy and envy. She skipped family meeting with Bella and refused to trade clothes with her, during the hunting party.
Third, the secrets behind Alice's past. She had no information about how she became a vampire, and it turns out to be that James was somehow behind it.
Moreover, there were plenty of other details. For example, Bella's fainting from blood type at the biology class, which resulted in the first school lunch of Edward and Bella, after which it inspired Edward to write Bella's lullaby. Not only Mike but also Eric and Tyler invited Bella to dance (the latter not with the help of Edward), though she made up a story of going to Seattle. Billy Black was trying to warn Bella and many many more.
The worst part of reading a book is when it ends you have to return to reality. It is definitely the nicest book to read (for sure) as it brings nostalgic memories of my teenage life. Probably someday I will be ready to read the New Moon & etc., hopefully, it won't take another 10-years in time.2682
