Я прочитал ее в рамках Книжного вызова 2018.
Что до самого сюжета - мне он не понравился. Кто-то из рецензентов назвал это произведение книгой "ту мач" (too much), и я не могу не согласиться. В ней слишком все за гранью нормальных пропорций. Я понимаю, что это сказка, и она должна нести мораль, но эта директриса уж очень бросалась в глаза, особенно её поведение. Чему может научить это произведение детей, я не знаю. Думаю, я просто перерос данный шедевр. Несколько запомнившихся цитат:
So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone

"A fine writer will always make you feel like that," Mrs Phelps said. "And don't worry about he bits you can't understand. Sit backa dn allow the words to wash around you, like music."1162
