And once again, here is a book with too many guns that did not fire by its end. I cannot even say that it's main problem is an open ending because it isn't so open, it is the middle that has too many bits and pieces that don't fit together. The author clearly has a great imagination and ability to create an atmosphere, but I cannot stop thinking that she got overwhelmed with all it produced and simply decided to finish the book once she couldn't connect and merge all the story lines neatly and at least semi logically.
