  I'm notorious for reading the most inappropriately serious books on the beach. This time around I didn't bring a large enough pile of books to our annual vacation and had to do with a choice of about 4 and a half chef d'oeuvres on the shelf at our hotel (all the guests were mainly German and Dutch, so the majority of books were in those languages making my pickings more than slim).

  When I grabbed this book (judging literally only by the cover), I knew nothing about the author. About 20 pages in I figured out she was an Aussie (brekkie and the like gave it away). So, about the book. It met my expectations to a T. Easy predictable read with pleasant characters and nothing more. I did like the fact that it started kinda from the end. I think it's a nice literary device to keep the reader engaged because I was somewhat curious to find out what happened. Would I ever read other works by this author? Sure, if I get stuck with nothing to read on a deserted island again =D
