  A richly layered and captivating tale, the story is filled with secrets—perhaps more than any one teenager should have to carry. At its center is Kira Zhuravleva, resilient and unbreakable, as though her spine were made of steel. Life doesn’t destroy her, but it reshapes her, forcing her to grow up quickly under the weight of constant revelations. While the plot itself unfolds in a clear, linear way, the author’s writing style is far more intricate, often requiring a careful and attentive read to fully grasp its depth. The novel weaves together romance, intrigue, buried pasts, generational conflict, tragedy, and even murder, all leading to a powerful and unexpected twist. It remains gripping throughout, with an open ending that leaves a lingering sense of mystery. However, despite its many strengths, the complexity of the narrative can feel excessive at times; the story is already strong on its own, and the abundance of stylistic layers and twists occasionally makes it feel overwhelming, as if it is trying to do more than necessary.
