Jocelyn_Phoenix1 марта 2026I didn’t quite get it. There wasn’t anything that I outright disliked, but there was little I liked and connected with.
The beginning of the mystery was good: a murder-suicide that is not as straightforward as it initially seems and can be something else. A few possible something elses are introduced, and it turns out it’s the least interesting and believable of them. Bummer.
The past mystery feels like it’s mostly there for red herring purposes.
The MC is thoroughly bland and unimpressive. He doesn’t feel like someone I’d like to follow into a whole book series.
I didn’t really feel the atmosphere either.
Having said that, neither did I feel that the book was bad. I just wasn’t there for any of it, but maybe I just missed something.
