Everyone wants to be retired for fishing

That was the last easy accessible book of Frederick Forsyth.

What can I say? First thing you can say that it isn't as brilliant as "Devil'salternative" or "The day of Jackal". Just good.

The book comprises of novels, each of them refers to the differend episodes in the long spy life of the guy who supposed to be send away due to the fact that Cold War is over (And his deputies are telling those stories in a fruitless attempts to soften the heards of those ugly bastards who wanted to retire him or to move as a simple civil servant somewhere to cool the poridge in the morning).

But before it (Cold War) was over he (our guy)  made a lot of good things – killed the insane West German agent who about to fail enterely the deliberately plotted fragile operation, by giving him a swig of a good Scottish whisky with cyanide (in the first novel). And of cause, he delivered.
In the second novel he made a lot of things which resulted to the killing of the talented KGB officer ( who could actually might be good consultant after Cold War just in a couple of months later, this gifted KGB chap).

The action to prevent IRA from delivery a new supply of arms in the third novel caused finally the exorbitant bus fare in Dublin and in the other prices in Ireland now ...

And finally – in the fourth novel all the good guys ( Medellin cartel enforcers and Cuban KGB apprentices ) couldn't enjoy a good fishing in Caribbean...

That was all just a light approach. But in general – the book is worth reading. And as I already said it was about the last book I read by this author (by last I meant only 3 to go left by FF) and I can say that some ideas he is a kind of abusing by using many times all over...

But still sometimes after reading such a books I want to retire and hop on a fishing boat somewhere on Caribbean, or at least on Malta...but I can't and still working and reading about the guys who can... What a life...

The good guy in this stories didn't want to retire it seems, but in the end we would find he actually want to be retired for the fishing...
