  The latest adventure for Strike and Robin draws them into the mysterious world of Freemasonry… or does it?

  As always, the plot weaves together several storylines. Predictably, one of them revolves around the romantic tension between the partners. Frankly, it’s becoming a bit tiresome to watch the same old doubts—"Should I say 'I love you' or not?"—play out again, along with yet another version of the Robin–Strike–third-wheel triangle. There’s been little movement on this front over the past few books.

  That said, the investigation itself is complex and multi-layered. It demands your full attention to keep track of all the clues, dates, and names. A word of advice: try not to take long breaks between chapters, or you might lose the thread!

  But what continues to fascinate me about this series is J.K. Rowling’s masterful writing. You truly see through the characters’ eyes and feel what they feel. That pure joy of immersion alone outweighs all the minor complaints. I didn’t regret a single second spent reading this book and am already looking forward to the next adventure!
