    Nowhere

I have a really high opinion about Bill Bryson after I read his books 'The Mother Tongue' and 'A Short History of Nearly Everything'. So, I was really looking forward to reading about his adventures in Europe as I know his books as being not only informative but also funny and wise.

However I didn't actually find in this exact book what I expected to experience. Maybe it's my fault but except some good-humored jokes I didn't have much fun in this.

The narration isn't really kind or clever as it could be bearing in mind that generally the author said that he enjoyed the trip. Also, it isn't assembled in a good way (if you know what I mean), it seems really segmental without any charm to me.

To my mind, books about travelling should be more positive. I am not saying that it must be totally romantic but I felt as he was criticizing any country he visited. French people are impolite, Italy is dusty, etc.

I was reading this book while travelling and believe me - if you organize your trip normally or at least have some good sense, you will have a great time, unlike Bill Bryson did.
