On my preparing to my exams at university I looked for new impressions. "The Hundred" series will be only in October or something, and I needed something like "The Hundred" though not exactly the same.
While surfing the net I came across the newly coming series "Wayward Pines". There is only one episode available, and it intrigued me so that I could not wait to know what the hell was going on watching just one episode a week. So I started to read the book.
Well, when I was watching the series and after that reading the "Pines" there were some thoughts in my head concerning the explanation of what is going on. I was like

I thought of loads of explanations of what is happening with the main hero - UFO, mental disorder, nightmare, parallel world et cetera.. But when after I read it I felt a little bit confused. I've made castles of predictions, what the ending will look like (fyi I haven't guessed the finale). But I felt something like disappointment at the end because I thought it was going to be far more mysterious.
What I liked the most: the language, the main hero (actually he's awesome), the atmosphere (I suppose I grasped the so-called Twin Peaks atmosphere, it coincides in some way), the dynamics of the plot.
What I disliked the most: a number of unexplained details (like the behavior of children) and the explanation. In some way it was ok, but I prepared myself for something more creepy and connected to parallel world.
