Аноним25 марта 2025 г.I really liked the main concept and enjoyed the way it was handled. It's one of the things I really like in books - a concept that is a bit on the weird side but the way it plays out and the way characters behave within the "rules" of the concept is very plausible.
The book handles a lot of topics, from what makes you you to personal immortality to the fate of the Earth to space exploration beyond the solar system. There are a lot of "what ifs", and we get Bobs' personal perspective on them - but there is also space for the reader to make up their own mind.
I also quite enjoyed the humor - and the way sarcasm is mixed with genuine care for the fate of the world.
It does read a lot like part one of a large book rather than a complete book in a series but I guess the line can be kind of blurred here. But a lot of the stories aren't really resolved in any way, they just stop at a certain more or less logical point but you need to read on to find out more. This wasn't really a con for me as I have the next few books lined up - and I hope the rest of the series is not long in coming.
Overall, a really nice mix of weird and realistic, sarcastic and genuine, serious and light-hearted. I'm really invested in the fate of the Bobs!
