I'm in the minority here, but oh well.

The book has a cool concept, some moments were I guess maybe kinda cute, and it's not badly written - but that was about it for me.

The book is mostly just "two hot people meet, fall in love immediately, experience miniscule inconveniences, and then live happily ever after". Barf.

I dislike the whole "when you meet the one you know immediately" thing - like, I get desire and attraction, but calling it "love" right away? Nooo. And I know that I'm a bit of a romance Grinch - I was ready to put up with that if the book gave me something else. But there was hardly any plot, no tension, no stakes, no conflict.

The difference in time was supposed to create all that but it is barely there. The MMC had to wait for 7 years - but it is mentioned in passing and brushed aside. The FMC realises that the older version of the guy is slightly more jaded and less inspired, but she goes "remember how romantic and inspired you were?" and that fixes things immediately.

But I guess one of the main things I dislike about this book is the idea that the thing you need to cope with grieving a parental figure who was also your best friend is a hot dude. I know that we all grieve and cope with grief in very different ways, but the way it was presented in the book was just very icky for me.

Overall, a rather unexciting and predictable read that, for me, wasn't even slightly romantic.
