  Finally, I decided to get acquainted with the author's work, and I started with a book with such a funny name - at first I thought, what kind of uncle is this?

  It turned out that this uncle was a mysterious trustee of an orphanage who wished to remain anonymous. For many years, he paid for the college tuition of the boys from the orphanage. But suddenly he decided to take under his care the girl - the main character, Jerusha (or Judy, as she later wants to be called) Abbot.

  Judy grew up in an orphanage, and although she is very capable and reasonable, it is hardly ever that she would have been able to get a decent education, but she gets such an opportunity and throughout the book we observe how her writing style improves and how her life changes.

  But for the most part she faces life optimistically. Her letters are usually lively and cheerful. But sometimes she’s downhearted or angry—sometimes with Daddy Long Legs.

  She works hard and is not discouraged. And her inner qualities are commendable we can attribute kindness, politeness, benevolence, self-belief, intelligence to such traits. An important internal quality of hers is the desire for self-improvement, because she wants to become a great writer. And will she succeed? (I won't say :))

  It' s such a wonderful book.
