I was very ready and very excited to step into the story.
quite a long time ago I’ve watched a movie, based on the book I’m going to talk about today, and what can I say? I was obsessed.
firstly, let’s a little go through the techniques: the whole reading process was ease, even though the language, especially after Percy J.’s cycle, was not.
I’ve made myself a little vacation from reading, but this book was perfect to bring the light into my favourite hobby aback.
yet still, I want to admit the situation, that never in my life happened to me before. with this story, I’ve experienced what is it: to love the work but not the authors personality. there are no specific reasons, i believe Cassandra is just not my type of person, but I honestly just can’t hide the surprise. probably, it was unexpected for the cause that half of the time I am not going for a deeper research on authors, always doing it with classics, but with modern writers it mostly happens accidentally.
anyways, the story. the first 100-150(+-) pages. boring, nothings clear. I started being very afraid that I won’t like the story because why? how can this be real when even a mid film adaptation got me screaming? but.. when the love triangle (or even more) started to appear, the world where I was brought to, as well, started getting more clear.
I love demons, I even place myself as a demon (jokes, yet still, how do u know?), and the Shadowhunters variant of reality suited me well.
demons, hunters, angels, werewolf, vampires.. ohh, how cool is that, especially all in one story! so, as follows, if you’re that crazy too, you should try to open this universe for yourself. i, personally, do highly recommend!
what a ride was that from the “lovers” perspective… for me it was the strongest part of the story, which I can’t wait to continue discovering. the tension between characters and the FINAL won’t leave you sitting emotionless. (I was literally crying from the way how hard the doings slapped me in shock).
overall, this story just need its time to hit the reader with the right emotion, and after that, trust me, you won’t be able to put it down.. you’ll only want to hug Jace Wayland to death (jokes again).
definitely a good one, can’t wait to read more!
