Are you, are you coming to the tree...

That’s my first review here. I haven't done the thing in years but often thought it would be nice to voice out ideas and emotions that kept rolling after reading another book. Always as different as the books themselves are.

Right now, I don’t feel like dwelling too much on drawbacks. You all know them: oversimplicity of narration, some unaccountable jumps and falls, idealization and even improbability of some events and characters, a handful of sloppy moments, etc. But the combination of this all makes a fine tapestry, which serves its purpose, namely: to write a young-adult novel and represent the evils of war. After all, you can’t expect a teenage girl to deliver high-flown passages of intricate-woven thoughts, no, Sir!

However, this simplicity – this simple and glossy and inviting cover of a bestselling action book – hides inside the world of pain and loss and grieve. Happy-end? Yes, as our time and audience demands it. Okay, I admit – I got so used to the main hero that I myself would be sorry to see her completely broken with no hope of recovery.

And, I guess, that was the whole point of the series. Hope. Hope that Katniss will survive all those horrors and get a chance at normal life. Hope that there are good people and good deeds that will keep this world going. And hope that the mankind could learn from the past and never make the same mistakes. Probably, it’s a long shot, but who knows? Let’s keep watch and hope for the best.

PS Yeah, I liked the creepy folk song.
