The Holly Dates

I hated men. If someone asked me an interesting fact about myself, it would be that I hated men. I wished my lower region despised them as much as my heart had.

Maybe a real man hadn’t gotten me off in a while, but enough fictional men said the right things to make me blush.

“Who said I’m alone? Jack will be with me.”
“Please don’t say you’re talking about Jack Daniels.”
I was talking about Jack Daniels.

My brother and I had the typical sibling relationship. We bullied each other for fun.

I am. It’s new, and I wasn’t ready to tell Mom about him, but it’s happening.

Well, I can’t wait to meet him. This is exciting. I’ve never met an invisible person before.

“Don’t offer to cover the bill. Don’t even reach for your wallet.”
“What if he doesn’t have enough to cover the cost?”
“Then he shouldn’t be on a date. He should be filling out job applications.”

Let him impress you, not the other way around.

Don’t belittle yourself. Don’t think you’re not worthy or capable of quality men. You are what you feed yourself, and your current diet is shit.

You should never care for another more than you care for yourself.

“You know, if we reversed the roles and I was the older brother, I’d let you drink at my bar.”
