Two Twisted Crowns

Great sequel/second part of a duology.

The story picks up where book one left of and the world and the magic gets even more developed. We get the whole story and a satisfying ending.

I really liked that the romance part of the plot revolves around another couple - so many stories make the original couple break up and/or create some unnecessary conflict in order to basically make them go through the same steps as book one, and I hate that. Here, we still follow the couple from the first book, but their story develops further, not in a circle. The relationship of the "new" couple is different and it was interesting to see how it developed, even if it felt a tad slow. And it was tied into the plot as well, not just "lets put two characters with matching genitals together".

The mystery about Ravyn's heritage felt painfully obvious and the reveal wasn't really a reveal. But the whole story is overall very interesting to follow, exciting and suspensefull till the end.

Overall, great story and worldbuilding, awesome magic system, and decent romance.
