    Short but not sweet

    Никогда ещё 130 страниц не казались мне такими долгими! Это вторая моя книга Скотта Торнберри, первая - Teaching Unplugged - читалась намного легче (может быть потому что написана в соавторстве). Чем не понравилась 30 teaching methods:

    •Сложный язык, длинные предложения. У меня крепкий С1 и я прочитала довольно много книг, но эта шла тяжело и со словарём. А если это преподаватель, например, испанского, и английский В2? Я бы ничего не поняла!

    •Очень коротко! Пыталась вчитаться, разобраться в разнице методов, но 1,5 стр на метод это все-таки мало. К концу все перемешалось.


    Тема интересная, понимать, как по-разному можно смотреть на изучение языка, откуда берутся разные методы - важно, но конкретно эта книга совсем мало приблизила меня к этому пониманию

    This book is interesting for teachers. Firstly, it's a good revision of methodology. I haven't known all of the methods, but the most part of them was familiar to me. Secondly, the reader can learn about new methods and the most interesting part for me was experience of polyglots.
    As for the disadvantages: readers would like to find out more information about the methods. All descriptions of the methods are quite short.

    The teacher’s focus should not be ‘on the search for the best method, but rather on the circumstances and conditions under which more effective teaching and learning are accomplished.

    We keep trying to find language solutions through courses, software, apps, flights abroad, books, schools, and a host of other methods, some of which can be useful, but these are nothing but accessories to the true core of language-learning: the people we speak with and hear.
