Girls run the bee world, and worker bees are all female.

It is amazing how quickly the abnormal becomes normal.

People think of a beehive as a monarchy because there is a queen, but in reality, a colony has a hive mind—knowledge is shared, opinions are offered, decisions are made collectively.

This has always been my favorite fact about bees: in their world, destiny is fluid. You might start life as a worker, and end up a queen.

It reminds me of the old Russian proverb You tell me you're going to Minsk so I'll think you're going to Pinsk, but you really are going to Minsk, so why do you always lie to me?
