There are so many whataboutisms that deserve serious thought and debate... But the fact is that Israel is not dealing with the same realities the rest of Western society is dealing with — not by a long shot. Judging it by the same criteria, when you don't understand the life-or-death nature of being Israeli, is an intellectual half measure at best.
