Defenseless Hearts

I love Parker and I really tried to follow because of him but Kenra is the worst and I can't find it in me to push through this. Apart from being bored, I'm extremely irritated so no. Kenra gives the vibe "if I'm miserable, everybody else will be too". I didn't feel such disgust towards a character in a long time. It was painful to read so I skimmed through the book to get Payton's story before reading "Promise me not".

Also, the ending where Parker decided to give it all even if this all wasn't his to give... You want to sacrifice your everything for love, be my guest, but sacrificing your best friend's legacy - hell no. She gave you a helping hand where you needed it and you decided you will let the important part of her life be destroyed... that's just selfish. I was going back and forth between one and two stars but this ending made my decision too easy.
