Читать далееMany of us heard such saying as: "God created men. Colt made them equal," Decades passed already since the day the slogan came into the humanity's life, imposing divisive appeal to each segment of society.Though it is quite valid still, we could paraphrase the famous quotation easily. Suffice to swap the word "Colt" with "BBC". The modern sophists could baldly go even further in assuming that there is no god but God and the BBC is the only righteous messenger of God. Hence, a BBC correspondent may be considered at least as a middle-ranking prophet (reaping certain profit). Jon Sopel is not just a BBC correspondent. He is flesh and blood of the upper crust of political society. Thomas Henry Huxley compared our world to a chess-board. But who moves the chess figures? That is the question. To my mind, chess game is the greatest human distraction. And journalists normally are used as a leverage to distract people's attention from certain political facts, events or even political killings. And such weapon does not cost much.
Please, note the following information:according to the BBC (the Lord is all knowing, remember?) the 2020 US election campaigns smashed all records - with presidential and congressional candidates spending a total of almost $14bn. In other words, that is the checked amount paid by one of the puppeteers (who plays, let's say white) for putting his protégé into the chair; for the possibility to enjoy food and drinks on the "Board number one". On the contrary, with the support and impetus from the all-mighty BBC, the second puppeteer's protégé just as well gets included into the presidential journalist pool. And in this case you do not need spend billions on the project. Just add luster to the CV and voila - Mr. Jon Sopel is allowed to feel himself like a president on the presidential Air Force One. He can enjoy a super-duper experience and feel himself involved in the mighty projection of power. In other words, whereas the USA keeps its man in Havana, the UK keeps its agents in Washington. In his turn, Mr. Sopel must secure certain obligations. And really for him it is no labor at all. He just should follow the divide et impera policy. There are so many topics the constituents should be detachedf rom. And all of them are enumerated in Mr. Jon Sopel's book. You start with"anger". Guys like Sopel are really good at deepening fissures. Mundanities of life start fading when the media first draw the thin red line disassociating a gritty castle of politicians from ordinary people, and then all of a sudden pull up the drawbridge. As a result, the vast swathe of America who felt left behind, started feeling anger. And started looking for a scape-goat.Divisiveness mutates into segregation. After the job segregation comes racial segregation. The media detached public from racial segregation in quite a funny way: virtually took people back into 1957 when some black students were illegally banned from attending class at Little Rock High School. In the end those students went to school under the protection of armed soldiers from Airborne Division of the United States Army. The story zest was that the soldiers were those heroic paratroopers from D-Day landings. Politicians made national heroes deliver nine children to their classrooms. Please, do not forget that about 200 years ago allegedly the Founding Fathers of the USA declared that "all men are created equal". In reality however it proved to be that George Orwell was right when wrote as follows: "all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".
Note:segregation in public came to an end only in 1964 when the Civil Rights Act was passed by Lyndon B. Johnson. (in this regard probably we should redefine the presumed causes of JFK assassination?)
But again, thanks to the media-soldiers (best regards to Mr. Sopel) who praised the above-mentioned act to the skies, the populace had no idea, that in reality only in 1968 the Fair Housing Act banned discrimination in the sale, rental and financing property. But again and again, the people got tricked by the government. Despite of all the Right Acts, the fact is that many African Americans still have no driving licence. Consequently, they have no passports. And no ID equals no vote! But who cares? Politicians and sheltered guys like the book's author really not give a damn.
Remember one strict rule: every time politicians dangle the carrot either in front of the elephant or the donkey – the result will be the same: whirlwind and tornado! First they bring to the stage Bill Clinton, who looks like a harmless redneck, looking refuge in sexual quirks. Here we come again to a very uncomfortable question: Who are you,
Mr. BrooksMrs. Monika Lewinsky? Maybe Clinton and media really needed a scandal like that happened to distract people from gruesome Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act?Note:the Act contained so-called "three strikes" policy. It means, that anyone who had two or more prior convictions would be locked up for life! It caused such a massive influx of prisoners, that the country heralded a special programme of prison building to cope with the extra demand for cells. The main result of Mr.Clintonsky's act was that hundreds of thousands minor criminals were locked up for life! 70 percent of them were either black or Hispanic.
The problem is that the book author just obliquely touches upon the problem. Instead he extensively expands on subject of his adventures in Northwest DC,the place that taxi-drivers prefer to stay away from. Despite the fact that the place is a couple of miles from the White House...
Another way to distract people's attention is to inflate a huge balloon, of red color and with inscription "PATRIOTISM" on it. The scheme is secure like a win-win lottery. By means of the media you concentrate the public attention on the people's death and not on the reasons they lost their lives for. Amazingly how dead heroes of America's 'bloody Sunday', who fought for their civil rights can be put on a par with men who lost their lives in Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan. And those and others have one in common – they are both dead. And that is quite enough for being lionized. That's called 'Patriotism'. Every time you need public to face any sort of artificial problem, the media involuntarily bring up that notion. For he who may not comply with the government regulations cannot be considered a patriotic citizen. If you don't clear the length of pavement where your house begins and ends – you can be sued. But it's a very rare occasion when a citizen can sue the government. Why the lawyers are as good as gold in states? Because they know exceptions to the governmental rules and the knowledge of it makes their profession lucrative. The lawyers will advise you what states have no income tax for teachers; The lawyers will advise you on the procedure routine you have to go through just for getting permission to board a train together with your pooch! Really, you need to get a license for your dog.It looks like you have to go through immense ordeals on the way to the coveted license. Maybe it could be equated with the firearms license. But it is not true. The firearms of any kind you can acquire much more easily. In the USA, even if you are on the terror watch list and if you are banned from all internal and international flights, you are still able to buy yourself a gun at a local firearms dealer.
Note: Being on the FBI list is not in itself sufficient grounds for being banned from buying a rifle!
Every time you hear onthe news about horrible school-shootings, keep in mind, that it is just a fire-arms producer determined in his endeavor to get a new fire-arms order from the government. The National Rifle Association is allowed to do anything it wants. One of the few rules you cannot abolish in the USA is a person's Second Amendment right to bear arms. And it undergoes no changes despite of the fact that only in 2015 in the US there were 372 mass shootings, killing 475 and wounding 1870. Roughly speaking, just over one mass shooting a day. When president Obama came to power, he was expected to become the most tolerable and humanistic president of the States. But as always, he proved to be another"carrot-and-public" project. While the media depicted him as the most opponent of unfettered access to guns, he was the gun industry's greatest friend. What Obama did for their profitability and sales was off the charts!
Note: one can buy asecond-hand gun without even showing a license, because second-hand equals to"antique" notion and you do not have to register your gun with the FBI. You can give the weapon as a present to anybody. That is the so called birthday-present loophole. And there are tens of such loopholes. And here we returning to our starting point: long live the BBC! Because but for the BBC coverage – the only TV channel in most African countries – there would be no president Obama. The phrase "content is king" is not actual any longer. Nowadays "media is president". All would be nothing, but the problem is that the guys like Jon Sopel are too dependent. And you do not need much money to buy or win support of such people. They can be bought just with a chocolate which has a presidential stamp:
"But the prized swag isthe little boxes of M&Ms exclusive to Air Force One, replete with presidentialseal and the president's signature. There used to be Air Force One playing cards and even cigarettes"
Times has changed: now it is not necessary to bribe a tribe leader with some glass beads. It's much more profitable to buy a pool of journalists by means of a chocolate and a pack of card. And then you can buy a serving president with an interview. Of course,if you belong to the BBC. And then the herd will follow the shepherd. In any direction. Amen!
