Первая книга приключений Эрагона. Это мальчик, которому пришлось стать избранным. Почему-то многие читатели очень любят его так называть. Я не хочу, но назвала. Почему не хочу? Ну что значит избранный? Он не был таким уж избранным. Все как-то случайно вышло. Да, рядом с ним был старый мудрый воин, но он скрывал свою личность. Ведь никто точно из всей этой "банды" заговорщиков не знал, что, как и когда произойдёт.
И вот Эрагон теряет сою семью, и в компании скрытого воина и дракона отправляется на встречу опасности. Лично мне книга очень нравится. Классное приключенческое фэнтези. Да, есть моменты, которые вообще не понятны, не интересно, но так часто бывает.
Я не могу эту книгу сравнить с "властелином колец", но почему-то по миру, по существам его населяющим, по размаху действия очень хочется.

Я, честно говоря, соблазнился и прочитал Эрагона и Элдеста сразу, когда недавно узнал о молодости автора - сразу вспомнился Сергей Садов и его Рыцарь Ордена - вот и надеялся прочитать что-нибудь подобное. Увы. Первая книга вполне приемлема, как преамбула, события начинают развиваться. Но вторая - полное разочарование. На протяжении двух третей книги практически ничего не происходит, затянуто до нудности, только ближе к концу добрые и злые встречаются в сражении, описанном, кстати говоря, весьма посредственно. Третью книгу читать не буду

There are some sacral numbers that are used for thousands of years while creating the stories, myths, fairytales. They are: 3, 7, 12, 33, 100. Why did the young and talented author choose 4? Why is it tetralogy instead of triology? Was he inspired by Tolstoy? Or did he decide to act in his manner, so he won't copy Tolkien? Don't know. But the plot of the third book is... something in the interim. Have you ever watched TV series? It's the time of fillers. They are not very terrible and they move the plot ahead. But as I understand now, one book would be too few and 2 books are too many for the plot. So the third one was just for story not to be forgotten.
What I liked:
a) the quotation regarding saved Katrina : "If the woman deserved the feats like those Roran did for her – she is outstanding woman. Even if she is usual one".
b) the remark concerning poor creature Thorn
c) Choice of Eragon regarding Sloan
d) Realisitic plot with Elva (although it's fairytale. Sorry, fantasy)
e) Urgals and the stories about them – they happened to be so true and honest guys
f) Eldunari – this idea of philosophy stone from "Fullmetal alchemist" – doesn't sound new but it's interesting
g)The manufacture of Brisingr – it's quite interesting. And that ancient tree – what is that?
What I did not like:
a) This book is too slow
b) Roran – he is unbeliveble, unbeatable, untouchable and so on. And so in love. It's not romantic. It makes me want to vomit.
c) Nasuada – when did it happen that the little girl turned into the wisest woman in the whole Alagaesia? I didn't get it.
d) Dwarves – they are so tedious, so tolkienistic and so stupid. No comments.
e) Elves - they are so metrosexual, so tolkienistic and so pseudo-aristocratic. Oh.
f) Name of the sword – thank you, it's not Hope. Thank you vey much, author, that you laughed at this stereotype.
g) Death of Oromis. Due to genre, it had to be but the way of performance...mmm. oh.
h) Arya Shadeslayer. Holy Eldunari, oh why? To plagiarize yourself? Paolini reached new level of plagiat. Master.
i) "Eragon, I am your father!" It's not canonic but it makes Eragon... so good, cute and nice boy. Much more vomit.
Galbatorix, Man, where are you? The third book has ended. Murtagh's demension can't be taken into account.
To conclude – what choice do you have if you want to finish this cycle? Enjoy this book! Or at least try to do it.

It was the first book of this cycle that I've read. It was 10 years ago. It was advertised by a librarian that it's something new and better than Harry Potter. Good marketing and empty words. But this book was good. Not so good to become crazy and to find another books of that cycle but good enough to recall this cycle after 10 year's pause.
It's author's victory that this book can be read at once without reading book 1. There are no unexplained links to the first book.
There is new structure of a book. Eragon isn't the only POV now (isn't the only center of the universe) – there are two more POVs – Roran and Nasuada. They are quite interesting characters – Roran is the iron man that came the way from the usual farmer's son to the indisputable leader of the refugees from his village. His principles are unbreakable, his will does not bend, his speech inspires for the feats, his strenght is inhuman (Stronghammer is his nickname). He has no magical power and that's why his personality seems cooler than Eragon's. He is increadibly lucky (but not as Eragon). This fact makes him look unreal.
Nasuada is the second POV. Underestimated girl who was made the leader of Varden due to fact that she is the daughter of previous leader (in the society where deeds are more valued than origin). Even young and naive Eragon thought that he can influence this green girl and sweared to be loyal before her. But Nasuada showed the power of wise woman. She won the positions step by step, making intelligent and cunning decisions. Although, she was lucky to get support of Elva, one of the supposed superweapon against Galbatorix.
Eragon started his course of development like in videogame. Quite predictable and boring. The first third of book is devoted to the journey to elves where main protagonist will meet great sensei Oromis (sensei of Sensei, reminds of Jedi Master Joda). He is the pensioneer but as there are no masters to teach the rider who fights for the Good Forces Union, he decides to do this (it's the only task left for him in this life).
The second third of the book is devoted to the studying. Main character has reached Zen (understood many aspects of how to control the energy). And, FINALLY, the author came to enlightment that a main character can just break the vein in the heart or brain to kill by using magic but not to use super stupid and energy-consuming spells. This makes the main hero far far far above 99.99% of all the living creatures and it's only after 1 year of having this rider's power.
The last third is devoted to the battle against the army of Galbatorix. There were no chances to win but they won. Unless Murtagh (poor creature) and his pet dragon everything would be like in the fairytail. But the meeting with old friend and the lovely conversation seems like answered many questions but still created the intrigue concerning the balance of the force.
Regarding cute, funny and sad simultaneously. The main couple, Eragon and Saphira failed in their attempt to start love relationship. Their hearts are full of love but those whom they love don't want it. Saphira who behaved like 17 years old girl who fell in love is something worth reading this book for. Didn't expect from this brutal, extremely wise beast such behaviour.

Уже собравшись отходить от книжного развала, мой взгляд остановился на пронзительном взоре синих глаз Сапфиры. Не теряя ни минуты я вернулась обратно и купила этот прекрасный томик. И нисколечко не жалею об этом. Данное произведение открыло мне новый волшебный мир.
Алагейзия - невероятная Империя, которой правит не совсем порядочный человек, однако на красоте этих земель это не отражается. Юному Эрагону и его дракону выпадают достаточно нелегкие испытания, но вдвоем они не унывают и продолжают жить дальше.
Чего только нет в этой прекрасной истории: дракон, гномы, эльфы, умопомрачительные раззаки, люди и конечно магия (как можно выжить здесь без нее?) Хорошая история для любого возраста. Достаточно плавное повествование даёт разгрузку для души, но переживаний будет достаточно.
Советую эту книгу к прочтению :)

Очень люблю эту серию книг. Влюблена в неё с детства и сейчас, перечитывая её, понимаю в очередной раз насколько же молодец автор. Всё очень продумано, логично и лаконично. Часто в книгах где есть моменты описания битв я их пропускаю, потому что это слишком скучно, но не здесь. В Эрагоне каждая битва это очень важный кусочек повествования и если её пропустить, то можно не получить сращу несколько кусочков общего пазла и потом будет непонятна вся картина.
Во второй книге Эрагон сильно вырос и это радует. Он постепенно перестает быть импульсивным подростком и учится владеть собой, своими мыслями и своим телом. За его становлением интересно наблюдать и гадать что же будет с ним дальше.
