Destiny, Rewritten

P.P.S. After thinking it over, I’ve decided the main differences between writing poems and romance novels are:
A. Romance novels are much longer.
B. Romance novels don’t have to rhyme or follow rules like 5-7-5 (haiku rule).
C. Romance novels usually if not always end happily, and poems are sometimes about dreary stuff like regret and dried-up ponds, not-so-happy things.

”To be honest, though,” Mom continued, “if you force things, fate sometimes creates alternative paths that take longer for you to get to the truth. Or worse, crafts a different ending altogether.”

“I think it means this: The rain is symbolic for it being the wrong time for you to know something, because it’s washing off what you want to see. The olives are symbolic for your frustrations in wanting to know that thing. That’s why they’re everywhere, circling you. It’s something that’s constantly on your mind. Like thoughts that won’t go away.”
