I roll my eyes at Mr. Big Shot. “You can start by telling me what the hell ameliorate means, or at least spell it for me so I can look it up,” I say. Mitch laughs a little.
“Sorry, I have a love of words that aren’t said often. It’s the nerd in me.”

“Sorry. I’m overwhelmed by your veracity. You are quite the rare breed, aren’t you?” I chuck her chin.
