When they were almost nose to nose, the Mara halted, looking deep into his eyes. Sibilantly it said, ‘You cannot win this battle, Doctor. If you do not speak your name willingly I will make you speak it. These people are mine. I can invade their dreams, control them at will. And soon I will invade your dreams too. I will crawl through your mind and pluck out your name... and then there will be chaos.’
The Doctor rolled his eyes. ‘Yeah, yeah, heard it all before. Boring, boring.’

capitalistka24 июля 2014 г.‘Your inane babbling is meaningless, Doctor.’
‘That’s only if you think of it as inane babbling. Me, I call it clever verbal misdirection.’

capitalistka24 июля 2014 г.‘Love?’ the Doctor sneered. ‘What do you know about love?’
‘I read it in the mind of this creature. He has such love for you. They all do. And you for them.’
‘Yeah, well, that’s what happens when people play Twister in sub-zero temperatures. They stick together. Sometimes literally.’

Illa8 января 2015 г.Доктор посмотрел на небо и широко открыл рот, позволяя залететь туда нескольким снежинкам, а затем закрыл его. – Ах, вы только попробуйте этот снег. Урожай снега нынче чудесный, определенно.

‘I do not fear you, Doctor,’ hissed Tomalin.
‘Yeah? Well, you should.’
‘You are old. Weak. You are no longer a threat to us.’
The Doctor rolled his eyes. ‘Blah, blah, blah. Heard it all before. Read the book, seen the film, got the T-shirt. No doubt you’re too arrogant to listen to advice, but here’s some anyway: leave this planet. Run or slither or scuttle away as fast as your appendages can carry you. I may be old, but you know what? That only makes me twice as dangerous. Because I don’t care any more. My time is short, and if I’m gonna go out, I may as well go out fighting.’

capitalistka24 июля 2014 г.Finally Tomalin said, ‘You are... the Doctor.’
‘Ten out of ten for observation. Always said you were a bright boy. “Mrs Pilke,” I said to your mother, “that boy of yours will go far. Recognises people just by looking at them.” Sharp as a... pointy thing. So I’ll just slip through, shall I?’

‘Nice is irrelevant,’ replied the head in its grating monotone.
The Doctor smiled. ‘Well, everyone else seems to be having a good time.’
‘Affirmative.’
The Doctor sighed. ‘You know, a long time ago, I used to know a dog who had just about the same level of conversational skills as you. I wonder what he’s up to now.’
‘Information not available,’ replied Handles.
‘Not, I didn’t think so,’ said the Doctor.
