If I die and the information contained in my brain survives, does that mean that I will survive? Survival means remaining intact at some level--mind, personality, memory, or soul--that is "me." To a materialistic, when the brain dies, so does the person. Fortunately, over the past two decades some ingenious experiments have raised hope that the mind extends outside the brain, and that the qualities that you and I cherish, such as love and truth, may be embedded permanently in the field.
