The collection is compiled from many of Amina's favourite folktales, gathered from Turkey, Arabia, Persia, Afghanistan and India, from Europe and the Americas. The scope of the stories presented is quite extraordinary in itself, and is all the more unusual in that each tale in the book was collected by Amina from a verbal source.
