I came across the title of this book in one of those lists of recommended books. I believe it was entitled "Books with an unexpected ending" or something of the sort. Then I read the synonpsis and thought I'd give this book a try. I should say I wasnt impressed too much. It didnt have that professed unexpected ending. However, it was an easy, entertaining and pleasant read. What I didnt like is that the story was somewhat far-fetched from the get go. Take, for example, the following. Robert suspects Erin, his wife of a couple of months, in hiding her past from him and he, being a lawyer, starts his own investigation. Well, who gets married these days after knowing the person for a couple of months?! Even if it happens, what are the odds of you discovering that your wife was a prostitute? Well, come on, dont you ask your wife to be to meet her family and all of that before you tie the knot? How come this husband lawyer whose job is to be suspicious only became suspicious AFTER they got married? Another thing is that Erin has a daughter Ruby. Robert falls in love with his daughter-in-law right away, sends her to the best school and feels responsibility for her. Really? After half a year of knowing the child? So my point is that the characters arent too deep. But it's a good read nontheless. Kept me entertained, so I'd give this book 4 out of 5.
