  Наткнувшись на эту книгу совершенно случайно на форуме, решила, что это будет неплохой способ освежить мои знания языка. В последствии оказалось, что книга является бестселлером. Описание Италии просто потрясающие, а вот Индия, напротив, показалось мне немного занудной, и я уже было собралась забросить книгу в дальний угол, когда на редакционном совете главный редактор начала пересказывать ее содержание. Стало ясно - обратного пути нет! :) И не пожалела!
  Стоит читать хотя бы из-за этой мысли:

  It's better to live your ouw destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody's life with perfection.

  Улыбнуло:
  If you are a single woman travelling through Bali and somebody asks you, "Are you married?" the best possible answer is:"Not yet" This is a polite way of saying "No" while indicating your optimistic intentions to get that taken care of just as soon as you can.
  Even if you are eighty years old, or a lesbian, or a strident feminist, or a nun, or an eghty-year-old strident feminist nun whi has never been married and never intends to get married, the politest possible answer is still:' Not yet".

  Poor man goes to church every day and prays before the statue of the great saint " Dear saint, please,please, please.... give me the grace to win the lottery.."This lament goes for months. finally the exasperated statue comes to life, looks down at the begging man and saysin weary disgust "My son, please,please,please... buy a ticket".
