The first ever Hercule Pairot case

This is the first ever published book of Agatha Christie, and you can tell. It's also the book, in which she introduces her most famous detective – Hercule Pairot.

I love Agatha Christie, and you can tell just how amazing she is based on her very first publication, but you can also tell that it's her very first book. Pairot doesn't seem so brilliant...he's lost sometimes and can't solve the mystery. It seems too easy of a case, and then even his good friend - Hastings - doesn't seem to trust Pairot half of the time. I didn't like that about Hastings, however, as the book unfolds we get more insights into their relationship, and the ending is still surprising. After hearing Pairot's explanation to the mystery, it gets clearer and it gets quite intriguing how it all worked out.

Therefore, I've put 4,5 stars. I think that it's a great book, especially for the first ever publication and the murderer is still surprising. Every little puzzle piece is explained and has its origin, and Pairot has an absolutely amazing approach, but it's a bit low for my standards and quite predictable, that's why I took away half of the star, but I couldn't dare to put even 4. It's too low for Agatha Christie's brilliance.

It's a great read to kick off your Agatha Christie's journey. The first ever book, and the introduction to Hercule Pairot, sounds like a solid combo.
