The Fault in Our Stars
John Green
Аноним2 марта 2015 г.I just loved this stupid book. Who would have thought?
Two cancer kids falling in love, yeah-yeah, the cheesy drama just as old as our stars, one of many... but are those books good? I don't know, but this one most definitely is.
I only got curious about it when I learnt that John Green the author of this book is the same John Green youtuber, who knows lots of stuff including how to pronounce "hyperbole". And what I discovered was beyond all of my expectations.
I believe it's a crime to read a translation of this book if you can read it in English. The various ways Green plays with the language are so ruggedly delicious, you can fall in love with it just for that.
At the same time, I'm so glad the characters are not real. I had to remind myself those were fictional people with fictional emotions, every time my pain would demand to be felt. Which was fairly often, especially towards the end.
However, the book isn't sad in a hopeless-shitty-feeling-way, not even in the least. It's a book of light. It tears your tiny heart apart, also expanding it when putting it back together. You wanna go out and do things, today, every day, you know. And for that especially I am very grateful.
I guess some infinities are indeed bigger than others, but I hope at the end of the day that doesn't matter. What matters is what we do with them.46
