  Вот, что я писала на экзамене САЕ, когда в качестве задания по writing мне попалась рецензия на любую из прочитанных мною книг:

  The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is set in Stockholm and on one of the remote islands of Sweden. This novel represents a thrilling mixture of a murder mystery, a family saga, a psychological drama, a love story, and a financial investigation. This is the first volume of the trilogy called “Millennium”, and it is so captivating that you may easily end up reading the whole series.

  The main heroine is a young punk and a computer super hacker, a multi-pierced and tattooed Lisbeth Salander, who happens to be a ward of the state and a victim of a severe rape. The main male character is Mikael Blomkvist, a financial reporter, unfairly convicted of libel for having incriminated a crooked businessman.

  Eventually they have to work together being hired by a famous industrialist in his late eighties, who can’t salve his conscience until the disappearance of his niece remains an unsolved case. Having started their investigation, Mikael and Lisbeth are no longer sure whether they may reveal the secrets that had been hidden in the family closets for more than forty years.

  The plot is so absorbing and inventive that you get totally drawn into it from the very outset. Not to mention the fact that its unexpected and intriguing twists make The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a real page-turner.
