They treated everything like a task that needed to be checked off their list. Make another million before breakfast – check. Invest in this company – check. Chair three board meetings at the same time – check. Speak to our daughter – check.
I think this was because for them, money was a measure of happiness. The more they had, the happier they were. And I think they felt like Clem would measure happiness in the same way.23
