Sex and the City, The Group, Gossip Girl, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Thelma & Louise—American popular culture is positively lousy with BFFs (not even death can separate that final pair). Men may come and men may go, but in American culture, at least, a girl’s bosom buddy will always be another woman.
