They were eligible to receive some compensation for the losses they had suffered. However, these programs did not include homosexuals because they were considered to be criminals. Men who had spent years in the concentration camps, had suffered unbelievable torture, had barely survived, and who would carry the scars of these horrific experiences for the rest of their lives, were denied any compensation.
